The Village Hall, Combe Martin

The Village Hall Community Group is an independent registered charity (No. 1150536) with 4 trustees supported by a
committee of other volunteers. Formed in 2012 to take over from the Parish Council and registered as a
charity in January 2013 to run, maintain and improve Combe Martin Village Hall

A 25 year lease was secured from the Parish Council in October 2014 which then enabled us to apply for grants and run the hall completely independently.  Our focus has been to invest in the hall and improve the facilities for the whole community to use and enjoy.  As a charity, fundraising is at the heart of this - everybody involved is a volunteer and, with the help of grants, we have made many improvements to date (see "projects/Improvements" page). Every penny raised goes to the village hall.

We hire the hall to various groups and clubs in the village, theatre productions and local organisations.  As a Committee, we organise the Farmer's Market which is held (usually) every 3rd Saturday of the month. We also run the kid's youth club with other volunteers once a week during term time and badminton for both adults and children. (Please refer to calendar for confirmed dates)
Various other events are held throughout the year by either the Committee to fund raise or other organisations who hire the hall for their own events.  Clubs such as Judo, brownies, guides and rainbows also hire the Hall.

Hire is available to all, whether a private party/wedding, bingo, quiz, training, theatre groups/bands/events,
kids parties with bouncy castle etc.
Please contact us for bookings or further information - cmvhall@outlook.com
We have a licensed bar, run by our committee volunteers, available with hire of the hall/annex at no additional cost

We are a not for profit organisation and all funds raised go towards maintaining and improving the Village Hall to keep this valuable village asset available to all in our community and surrounding areas.

If you would like to join our committee or just become a volunteer
we would love to hear from you!

Defibrillators

We also organise the weekly checks and maintenance of 3 defibrillators in the village.  The one outside the Village hall was partly paid for by a grant from the British Heart Foundation, donations raised from the community funded the other 2 which the VHCG installed at the top and the bottom of the village.  The boxing for the Village Hall defibrillator was made and donated by a local business who made the other 2 boxes at a reduced cost, he fitted all 3 free of charge.
We received a donation from the Carnival Committee of £500 to help with costs and since 2018 the costs of the checks and maintenance is being covered by a S137 grant we receive from Combe Martin Parish Council.
All 3 defibrillators have been accredited with South West Ambulance Service so they are on the National Ambulance Register for defibrillators.  Registered with The Circuit (The National Defibrillator Network)
